#SikapPinoy is a passion project aligned with the overarching vision of The Astoria Group’s CEO, Mr. Jeffrey T. Ng, and COO, Mrs. Vivian S. Ng, to always keep the best interests of the local communities in mind in all things that we develop.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
While the core idea is to celebrate the unwavering spirit and resilience of Filipinos, the #SikapPinoy project specifically aims to provide communities supported by The Astoria Group with quality practical, financial, and life education.

Through new insights, shared experiences, and inspiration from our speakers, we remind one another that every journey takes courage, and with sikap, we can keep moving forward and thrive, no matter what lies ahead.
2025
Pasig City, Metro Manila
In a world that keeps moving forward, Sikap Pinoy invited the attendees to pause and look back. Our speakers encouraged everyone to reflect on where they began, the lessons that shaped them, and the dreams they once held close. It served as a gentle reminder that sometimes, looking back is how we find the courage to move forward.

Puerto Princesa, Palawan
Sikap Pinoy came home to Astoria Palawan in 2024, reaching more members of the Puerto Princesa community and our own employees. Through conversations on finances, careers, spirituality, and the importance of family wellness, we were reminded of something simple yet meaningful, and that is when we look after one another, we create stronger families, stronger communities, and a better future together.
2023
Pasig, Metro Manila
Sikap Pinoy continued to create opportunities for Filipinos to learn, reflect, and prepare for what lies ahead. Together with Astoria Culinary & Hospitality Institute (Astoria-ACHI), the initiative opened conversations with leaders and experts on financial wisdom, career growth, and spiritual well-being—sharing knowledge that inspires better choices and brighter possibilities.
2022

Like an eagle, we rise together as one. In its fifth year, Sikap Pinoy continued to embody the Filipino spirit of resilience, giving courage, renewing our sense of purpose, and helping one another rise above the challenges of a changing world, especially after the pandemic. Through psychological, behavioral, economic, and socio-cultural initiatives, we continued to build strength and move forward together.
2021
Online via Zoom
In one of the country’s most difficult years, Sikap Pinoy continued its mission to uplift our fellow Filipinos through health, financial, and psychological support. With in-person gatherings impossible at this time, we brought Sikap Pinoy online through Zoom. Though the pandemic kept us apart, it never stopped us from reaching out and finding ways to connect, care, and help, even from behind a screen.
2019
Boracay, Aklan
With over 230 participants from all 3 barangays of Boracay, namely Balabag, Manoc-Manoc, and Yapak, the Boracay Sikap Pinoy event was a rousing success! Invitees came from all walks of life, with local government employees, tattoo artists, hair braiders, and fisherfolk all mingling together to learn more life skills.
Puerto Princesa, Palawan
With over 600 participants, divided into two sessions, Sikap Pinoy saw the progress that Filipino communities from Port Barton, San Vicente, and other Palawan barangays had made from the first event in 2018. Once again, Filipino resiliency was celebrated with livelihood empowerment.
Pasig, Metro Manila
The audience of the Sikap Pinoy 2019 event brought home new knowledge and skills to 180 corporate professionals. With the best national speakers tackling in-depth and hard-hitting topics regarding financial planning for growing families, spiritual enlightenment, and physical health, all participants left with a better sense of well-being.
2018
Puerto Princesa, Palawan
As the premier launch of the Sikap Pinoy event, the stage was set with more than 300 people from 10 barangays participating in the educational event held in the Mangrove Conference & Convention Center By Astoria in Astoria Palawan. Incredible speakers encouraged Palaweños with stories of hope and lessons on fishery and farming livelihood projects.
