Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dining Area & Station Preparation
  • Prepare and set up dining tables, side stations, condiment bars, and beverage stations prior to service hours.
  • Ensure all chinaware, flatware, glassware, and cloth napkins are sanitized, polished, and laid out according to hotel standards.
  • Assist in assembling breakfast, lunch, or dinner buffet lines, including placing food tags, warming trays, serving utensils, and decor.
2. Food & Beverage Handling
  • Maintain food temperature and freshness standards at buffet counters, salad bars, or dessert displays.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to replenish depleted food pans, chafing dishes, and beverage dispensers promptly.
  • Serve food items to guests at action stations (e.g., carvery, egg station, noodle bar) under proper food safety guidelines.
  • Clear dirty dishes, glassware, and used cutlery (bus-out) from guest tables swiftly and quietly without disrupting diners.
3. Guest Service & Support
  • Greet arriving guests with traditional Filipino hospitality (warmth and attentive care).
  • Assist guests with seating, answer basic questions regarding menu items or food allergies, and relay special dietary requests to the kitchen.
  • Refresh drinks, pour coffee/tea, and provide requested items like extra napkins, condiments, or high chairs for families.
4. Sanitation & Post-Service Tasks
  • Adhere strictly to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and local sanitation regulations.
  • Wipe and sanitize tables, chairs, high chairs, and service counters between guest turnarounds.
  • Assist in clearing buffet stations, storing unused food properly, sorting soiled dishes for the stewarding team, and resetting the dining room for the next shift.

Position Requirements in the Philippines:

1. Education
  • High School diploma or Senior High School (TVL Track - Home Economics)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management (BSHM) or F&B Vocational Certificate (TESDA NC II) is highly preferred by top-tier hotels
2. Certifications
  • Valid Barangay / City Health Certificate (Sanitary Permit for food handlers) is mandatory in local government units across the Philippines.
3. Skills & Competencies
  • Strong customer service orientation, high attention to hygiene, speed in clearing/setting tables, and basic knowledge of food safety.
4. Language Skills
  • Good command of Filipino and English (capable of taking simple requests and explaining food options clearly).
5. Physical Demands
  • Capacity to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays/bus tubs throughout an 8-hour shift.
