Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Setup & Preparation (Banqueting Operations)
- Set up function rooms and ballrooms according to event order specifications (MICE - Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).
- Arrange physical furniture, including banquet tables, chairs, staging, podiums, dance floors, and buffet lines.
- Lay table linens, silverware, glassware, chinaware, napkins, and centerpieces following strict hotel service standards.
- Coordinate basic audio-visual (AV) needs, projector placements, and microphone checks with the technical team.
2. Food & Beverage Service
- Serve plated meals (Russian, American, or Family-style service) or manage buffet lines, drink stations, and cocktail bars.
- Maintain timing and pacing for multi-course meals in coordination with the Banquet Kitchen and Banquet Captain.
- Clear used plates, glassware, and cutlery promptly (bus-out) without disturbing event proceedings or guests.
- Replenish beverages, water pitchers, and food trays continuously throughout the event.
3. Event Breakdown & Post-Event Care
- Efficaciously clear function rooms after guests depart.
- Strip table linens, separate soiled items, sort glassware and silverware, and return items to stewarding or storage.
- Dismantle tables, chairs, and portable platforms safely and restore the venue layout for the next event.
4. Guest Hospitality & Problem Resolution
- Accommodate special dietary restrictions, food allergies, or last-minute guest requests promptly.
- Assist event organizers with logistical changes during live proceedings.
Position Requirements in the Philippines:
1. Education
- High School diploma required
- Vocational Certificate (TESDA NC II in Food and Beverage Services) or a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management (BSHM)
- Tourism is highly preferred
2. Work Experience
- Entry-level positions are open to fresh graduates, but prior experience as an event server, catering staff, or hotel intern (OJT) is an advantage.
3. Physical Fitness
- High endurance for lifting heavy trays, moving furniture, and standing/walking for 8–12 hours per event shift.
4. Communication
- Good working command of English and Filipino to interact with event organizers, guests, and kitchen staff.
5. Schedule Flexibility
- Must accept irregular hours, split shifts, late-night event breakdowns, and heavy weekend or holiday schedules (peak wedding/party seasons).
