Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guestroom & Public Area Plumbing Repairs
- Respond promptly to daily job orders regarding plumbing issues, such as clogged drains, low water pressure, leaking faucets, running flushometers, shower valve failures, or broken water closets
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) routines on bathroom fixtures, flush valves, drainage traps, bidets, and water mixers across guest floors.
- Ensure silent and leak-free plumbing operations in guest areas to prevent water damage to carpets, ceilings, or drywall finishes.
2. Central Water Systems, Boilers & Pumps Maintenance
- Monitor, inspect, and maintain central water distribution systems—including domestic water booster pumps, transfer pumps, sump pumps, sewage ejectors, and pressure tanks.
- Assist in operating and servicing hotel Hot Water Boilers / Heat Pumps, heat exchangers, and circulation pumps to guarantee continuous hot water delivery throughout the property..
- Oversee grease trap cleaning and maintenance in commercial kitchen outlets (main commissary, dishwashing/stewarding areas, bakery) to prevent grease blockages in main sewer lines.
3. Infrastructure Pipework & Installations
- Repair or replace damaged water distribution lines (PPR, PVC, GI, copper, and stainless steel pipes), fitting joints, valves, gaskets, and seals.
- Perform pipe cutting, threading, solvent welding, soldering, or heat fusion depending on piping materials used in the building.
- Assist with new plumbing installations during hotel renovations, room upgrades, or new facility setups in accordance with the Revised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines.
4. Water Quality, Conservation & Compliance
- Assist the engineering team in monitoring domestic water storage tanks (cisterns, overhead tanks) and coordinating periodic tank cleaning, disinfection, and water quality testing (microbiological/chemical tests).
- Implement water-saving measures by adjusting flush volumes, installing aerators, and fixing minor leaks immediately.
- Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations enforced by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-OSHC), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and local government environmental standards.
Position Requirements in the Philippines:
1. Education
- Vocational/Technical diploma in Plumbing & Pipefitting, or Senior High School Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track.
2. Certification
- TESDA Plumbing NC II or NC III certification is highly preferred; a Master Plumber License issued by the PRC is a major hiring advantage for senior technician roles.
3. Experience
- 2–3 years of hands-on plumbing experience in a hotel, resort, high-rise residential building, commercial mall, or construction setting.
4. Technical Expertise
- Proficient in pipe jointing methods (PPR fusion welding, PVC cementing, threaded fittings), reading plumbing blue prints/drawings, pump operations, and sanitary fixture repairs.
5. Physical Stamina
- Capacity to crawl into tight utility chases/ceiling spaces, climb ladders, carry heavy tools and pipes (up to 25 kg), and work in hot or damp environments.
6. Schedule Flexibility
- Willingness to work on rotating shift schedules, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to on-call emergency pipe bursts.
